Project 8 Dubstep

This is my prooject 8 dubstep loop. This is the longest and most confusing project we have done. I think the hardest part for me was having sounds linked to events in the video, although in the end I figured out how, and it became useful throughout the project. For my first pattern I came up with a pattern that went well with the opening scene. after about 9 second my 2nd aand third patterns kick in and those patterns are my half time drums. A few seconds latter the base line comes in when the ATAT's begin to come toward the rebel troops. I created the sound in Poizone and made a pattern in the piaano roll. I also added in a bass that goes throughout almost the whole loop. I then added a drum and bass pattern in because it fits with the battle scene. During the battle scene I linked a wobbly drum to the event when the ATAT fires at the snow speeder. I continued with a battle like sounds and linked some drums to lasers firing. As the battle scenes change the sounds do. I came up with some more bass like sounds in poizone when the speeders are flying. When the ATAT is about to trip I went in to sytrus and created a dramatic sound. When the ATAT is blown up I linked a drum sound to represent an explosion. It then goes to another battle scene that has more heavy drum sounds. I created the using some kick drums I found in the FL Studio browser. As Luke skywalker is shot down I created another dramatic pattern. When the speeder finally hits the ground I linked a kick drum to represent a crash. As the loop finishes off I used drum patterns that I already used. As the song begins to end the drums become less and less. I used gross beat in the dramtic noise patterns and pattern one. I created a volume envelope for each time. Enjoy

Project 7: Sytrus

In this project I learned how to create sounds using the Sytrus channel. At first I was a little lost at first because the channels so big and confusing, but now i understand most of it. I found help from the default and found out how they created different noises. I started with a simple sign wave and played around with the operator and, FX knobs until I heard something I liked. I made a pattern in the piano roll and used that for the main rhythm. I added a Bass sound with the BOOBASS channel to fill empty places. I then added a drum beat for pattern 3 that i think went well with the other sounds. And to finally change it up a little I created another pattern in Sytrus for a fill. Just the pattern has a higher pitch and a small pattern change. I didn't really go for anything specific I just went with the flow. Enjoy.

ADSR Project

For My ADSR (attack, decay, sustain, release) project I used poi-zone, and FPC. It starts off as a kind of dub step noise with some drums. I went for a BASS kind of wobbly sound as the main PoiZone beat. For the first two patterns I used the same BASS noise in PoiZone and, transposed the same rhythm in the first two patterns. My third pattern is my drum beat. I used the drum beat to make it sound better and fill holes in between sounds. For my pattern four I created a fill with PoiZone that I think helps the loop fade out. For the last part of the song I used my pattern one beat but, I did not add drums so the song could fade out better. I hope it came out okay. Enjoy

Poizone

This is My project five were I created a Poizone synth. In this loop I learned how to make my own sounds using poizone. At first I satreted to play around to see how to use the synth and what kind of noises I could make. I tweaked the knobs until I heard a sound that I liked. Just kind of a ringy type sound that you would expect to hear in a old video game. I then used that sound through out the loop. I first created A beat I liked in the piano roll and I used that beat throughout the loop, but I changed it by transposing each diffrent pattern. Then as it goes on you begin to hear a drum beat, and that beat is used throughout the loop. I created the drum beat using FPC.I felt it sounded good with the sound I created. I went for a techno style. Enjoy

Project 4

This is my project four. I learned in this project how to use the fruity filter, and the x,y controler. I went for a basic techno kind of theme. In my first pattern I used FL Slayer, and created a guitar pattern in the piano roll. It's pretty basic nothing fancy. For the second pattern I went for a little more with the Drum Synth Live. It is a cool synthasizer that I used for the first time. I plan to use it again, but anyway for this pattern I just added a techno kind of drum beat that the Riff machine made for me. For the third pattern I just went back to basics, and added another drum pattern using FPC. For my fourth pattern I added a techno sound using Rave lead. I used the x,y Filter in this pattern. I used an automation filter through out. Enjoy

Project three: My Automation

This is my project 3 Automation. I went for a basic rock like theme. I started by creating my own drum pattern in FPC in the piano roll. I used symstynth as a plug in to make the sound that I was looking for. For the second pattern i added in a Bass using Boobass, and a guitar pattern using Fl Slayer. I also used symsynth as my plug in for Fl slayer. I used the same drumm pattern I created throuout the Loop. In pattern three I changed the guitar pattern so it would fit with the fade out. And finally I added the Automation clip and faded out the loop. Enjoy.

Project 2

Here is my project 2. In this project I learned how to use diffrent channels. One channel I used was FL Slayer, I could not really find many patterns that i liked, but i ended up finding okay sounds. Another Channel i learned how to use was FPC. In FPC there are many diffrent presets and noises and there is so much to choose from. I found some good drums and had the most luck with FPC. This project is very simple but hass a basically good rythme that I hope you like. Enjoy
